FAA 200 Course Information
Prerequisite: Art 100 and departmental approval. Open to sophomores and juniors and seniors.
Description: Having experienced various media and techniques in Art I, the student in Art II will begin a portfolio, explore new media, such as acrylic painting and block printing, and delve more deeply into those areas of art with which he is already familiar. He is encouraged to demonstrate greater creativity, skill, and refinement in his artwork.
A further study of art history is required.
Final exam on scheduled exam day equals 10% of final grade for the course.
Outcomes: The student will be able to:
-recognize art and artists from various periods of art history,
-produce drawings from observation, i.e. contour, blind contour, tonal, mixed media, etc.,
-create paintings with acrylic paint and watercolors, produce block prints and designs, develop a portfolio of artwork.

Method of Evaluation: Teacher assessment of student portfolio, effort, and class participation.
Materials: all art supplies (except pencils) are provided within the course. Students must replace supplies as needed. The supplemental reading book, Elementary Alphabets, by Ross F. George, is required for this course. The book is available for student use in art class.
